Cambridge, Ohio is full of fun for every age. From awesome outdoor adventures to kid-friendly dining and accommodations, Guernsey County and the surrounding Southeast Ohio region makes it easy to bring the whole family along for your next visit. Here are a few of our favorite local recommendations for your next family adventure:
The Wilds: This jaw-dropping 10,000-acre conservation center owned and operated by The Columbus Zoo allows visitors to learn about animals from all over the world by experiencing them up-close and in-person. From May to October, you can take a guided tour, go on a safari or even feed the animals. A gift shop, café, birding and butterfly areas, summer camps, private lodge, private tours and more are also available to those who want to make their visit to The Wilds even wilder.
Rocky Fork Horseback Riding: Guided horseback rides are just one of many ways your family can enjoy the Rocky Fork Ranch Resort. A newly remodeled paintball course, canoe rentals, hiking trails, mini-golf, pizza shop and picnic facilities round out what your kids will always remember as one of their favorite family vacation destinations. The center is open seven days a week all summer, but always contact the farm in advance for exact times and exceptions.
Deerassic Park Welcome Center: Eastern Ohio is home to a seemingly endless population of deer, and there’s no better place to learn more about and see them than the Deerassic Park Education and Welcome Center, situated on 130 acres near Salt Fork State Park east of Cambridge. Interactive exhibits, a slide, gift shop and deer viewing decks are available daily; frequent youth programs from archery classes and animal meet and greets to fishing derbies and creaking adventures are offered and are listed on their website.
