The Cambridge Singers is an adult group of individuals from the community who love to sing! It is the longest continuously performing 6 part harmony group in Ohio. The group has delighted audiences for nearly 60 years!
The Singers, under the direction of Kathy Antill, produce spectacular family oriented shows 2 times per year, at Christmas and in the Spring, and entertain at community events. The shows feature popular old and new songs with choreography, local soloists and small groups and spectacular scenery. Audiences have marveled that the group is made up of all local talent!
The group has a rich history. A group of women began a chorus called “The Musicals.” The group invited men to join and won a national singing contest called the “Fred Waring Sacred Heart Competition.” The Cambridge Singers were born! A highlight of its history was performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
A mission of The Singers is to encourage the enjoyment of vocal music, to promote the growth of singing in the community and to encourage the pursuit of music education among area youth. Each year the organization offers college scholarships and financial support for high school students to attend a musical theatre camp at Muskingum University.
If you love to sing, consider joining The Cambridge Singers! New members are welcomed in September and January. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 7:00-9:00 p.m., September through May.
