The Ice is Nice in Cambridge

Let’s face it: winter in Ohio sometimes means snow and ice. Luckily, Guernsey County, Ohio has plenty of ways to both escape and embrace the chill.

Glide toward family-friendly adventure at the seasonal Cambridge Ice Rink, a 40 x 80 foot ice skating rink located in downtown Cambridge. While the surface is synthetic, the joy you’ll feel while gliding under the string lights is very real. Skating, concessions and themed events keep visitors re-enacting their favorite Olympic ice skating moments–or perhaps just trying to stay upright–now through February 28, 2023. Thursdays-Sundays 5-9 p.m., $8 per hour to skate. Bring your own skates or rent them for $2 per pair.

No skate date is complete without one more icy joy: ice cream. Locally-owned KIK Extreme Desserts serves up desserts beyond your wildest winter dreams: extreme milkshakes, rolled ice cream, cotton candy ice cream burritos and so much more. You’ll be warmly welcomed to this frozen paradise, and can opt for the cozy dine-in seating or to take your treats to go.

Need to de-ice after exploring all that’s cool in Cambridge? Warm up with a steamy mug of hot chocolate, fresh-ground coffee or even a handcrafted drink from their new espresso machine at local haunt New Grounds Cafe downtown on Wheeling Avenue.
