The Gomber House is one of the oldest homes in Cambridge, Ohio. Records show it was built between 1809 -1815. The front part of the home was built by Jacob Gomber, one of the founders of Cambridge. He was an Associate Judge, and the location was known as Judge Gomber Corner. He died in 1820.
Harriett McCartney purchase the home in 1872, and it remained in her family until her daughter Estalla died in 1966. For many years it housed the *Muskingum College Conservatory of Music.
*Muskingum College is now known as Muskingum University and is in New Concord, seven miles west of Cambridge.
