This April 18-19, Guernsey County will proudly join in the nationwide commemorative event, Two Lights for Tomorrow, celebrating the historic actions that shaped our nation’s freedom. As part of the lead-up to the United States’ 250th birthday on July 4, 2026, Guernsey County will honor Paul Revere’s legendary midnight ride.
Two Lights for Tomorrow will shine a spotlight on the past with residents of Guernsey County encouraged to participate by displaying two lights in their homes, businesses and public buildings on April 18-19. This special occasion is more than just a historical tribute—it’s a call to action to celebrate the spirit of community, patriotism and unity.
On April 18 and 19, lights will shine at key locations across Guernsey County including the Guernsey County Courthouse, Cambridge City Hall and the Cambridge/Guernsey County Tourist Information Center. These lights symbolize the beacon of hope and patriotism that illuminated the darkness during Paul Revere’s famous ride to warn the colonies of the British approach “by land or by sea.” By displaying two lights, Guernsey County will be joining a larger nationwide effort to honor this hero and reflect on the enduring legacy of his courage and sacrifice.
