Located just a few miles from Interstate 70 in East-Central Ohio (Guernsey County), The Farm at Old World Garden is a place where nature, charm and relaxation all come together to create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere for visitors and overnight guests.
Spread across 46 rolling acres, the private farm’s gardens, walkways and 3.5 miles of scenic trails wind through the property to take visitors to lush gardens, water features, ponds, sitting areas, private cabins and more.
In 2020, Jim & Mary Competti purchased an overgrown 20-acre parcel of land with hopes to create a special kind of farm – not one that grew crops, but instead, experiences and happiness for those who visited.
Since that pivotal first year, the farm has continued to expand, adding new buildings and projects each year. In 2023, the farm added 26 acres and connected them with 3.5 miles of scenic, rolling walking and hiking trails. A pond was also dug out that year, turning an unusable ravine into a serene sitting area complete with a pavilion and bar area – and even a pickleball court for visitors to enjoy.
Fast-forward to 2025, and the now 46-acre farm has something for everyone. One of the farm’s most captivating highlights is the opening of The Grassland Garden. The two-acre garden is a one-of-a-kind space dedicated to native and low-maintenance ornamental grasses. This lush garden will feature breathtaking displays of varied textures and colors, with carefully curated beds and spaces showcasing the natural beauty of these resilient plants, along with colorful annual plantings to bring the whole area to life.
Whether you’re curious about our gardens, growing methods, or want to view the grounds, trails and scenic views, The Farm at Old World Garden has something for everyone to experience! Visitors may enjoy a guided tour with a behind-the-scenes look at the farm and all it offers.
For those seeking a peaceful overnight stay, the farm offers a cozy cabin cottage, perfect for a private retreat. Additionally, guests may opt for a more rustic group or family experience by renting the properties’ three charming sleeping cabins. The sleeping cabins come with exclusive access to a private shower house and bathroom, as well as use of the party barn and outdoor kitchen area. Here, visitors can gather around the fireplace, share stories by the fire pit, or cook together using the pizza oven and the Argentinian grill.
The Farm at Old World Garden is also an exceptional venue for weddings, celebrations and special events. The spacious 3,100-square-foot event center provides an elegant space for receptions, parties and gatherings of all kinds. The adjacent party barn and courtyard, complete with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, add rustic charm and versatility to any occasion.
