As we prepare to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026, Guernsey County proudly joins communities across Ohio and the nation in honoring our shared history, culture, and future. From our rich pioneer heritage to our vibrant present, we invite residents and visitors alike to explore the stories, landmarks, and people that make Guernsey County a vital part of the American journey. Join us as we reflect, celebrate, and look ahead to the next 250 years together.

As part of America 250-Ohio;s Creativity Trail, the Mosser Glass Factory and the National Museum of Cambridge Glass showcase the region’s legacy of craftsmanship and innovation. At Mosser Glass, visitors can witness skilled artisans transforming molten glass into timeless pieces using techniques passed down through generations. Just minutes away, the National Museum of Cambridge Glass offers an inspiring journey through the county’s rich glassmaking history, featuring over 10,000 dazzling pieces and interactive exhibits. Together, these attractions celebrate the artistry, industry, and creativity that define Guernsey County’s contribution to America’s cultural heritage.

As part of America 250 – Ohio celebration, the Guernsey County Commissioners proudly planted our Heritage Tree on April 23, 2025 marking the beginning of an ongoing effort to plant trees that honor the people, stories, and milestones that have shaped our county and our nation. Each tree serves as a living tribute—rooted in history and growing toward the future—creating a legacy of natural beauty and reflection for generations to come.

To honor the 250th anniversary of the United States, Guernsey County is proud to present a series of events and programs that reflect the spirit, history and future of our community. These events are designed to engage residents and visitors alike, inspiring reflection on our past while celebrating the diverse voices and shared values that continue to shape Guernsey County and the nation. Join us at the library we kick off the summer season with a 1950’s themed Sock Hop and Classic Car Cruise in. Come dressed in your favorite 50’s attire, check out some cool classic cars, and enjoy some sweet treats.
Community Picnic

6:00 p.m.
Join us for live music, food, and fellowship at our first ever community picnic. Light refreshments will be provided by GCDPL and their community partners. Guests are welcome to bring their own favorite dish or purchase something from your favorite food truck. Family friendly games will also be available.
Family Field Day

All are welcome to join us as we kick off the fall with a Family Field Day. There will be games, obstacle courses, and of course, fun. This event is sure to be fun for the whole family.
