CAMBRIDGE CITY BAND CONCERT IN THE PARK

Thursday, June 17, 2021 07:30pm

Cambridge City Band “Concerts in the Park” Series

Cambridge City Park

The Cambridge City Band is marking a milestone this year, a 180th milestone to be exact.

The band had its inception in May 1841 with a jeweler, James Madison, as leader. The band has endured wars and hardships along with great memories to bring members to 2021.

The band has traveled to several states and performed for presidents and military balls, but Cambridge City Park is its home and favorite venue. Director Dr. Berk Jones is serving in his 44th year as conductor.

Though it has changed names throughout the decades, the Cambridge City Band is celebrating its 180th year this summer. The hard work and dedication from all the members and directors have made the band what it is today.  The "Concert in the Park" admission is free and open to the public and starts at 7:30 p.m.
