The Crossroads Branch Library, 63500 Byesville Road, Cambridge, promises to be overflowing with mystery, fantasy, humor, drama and more, Saturday, March 25, 2017, 11am-1pm, when the Guernsey County District Public Library presents their 8th Annual “Writers at the Crossroads”.
Step into a writer's world; listen to their words as they read their short stories, poems or snippets of their writings and take you on journeys you may never forget. This event, organized by local writing group, Cambridge Writers, is free and open to the public.
After the readings, CW members provide a ‘Munch & Mingle’; a chance to socialize with the writers while enjoying free pizza and drinks.
Drawings will be held for valuable door-prizes donated by locally owned businesses and a basket containing an autographed book by each seller along with other items to raise funds for the library. The group uses this event as a way to pay the library back for loaning books to them as children, where that first love of reading eventually turned into the deep desire to write. The funds raised each year benefit the children’s programs at Crossroads Branch Library. Donations of regular size Lego’s building blocks is encouraged.
Melissa Essex, Assistant Director of the library, stated that finding programs for adult patrons is difficult, so every year she looks forward to working with local writers in presenting this event. She stated, “Libraries and writers are a perfect match!”
